Capes On the Couch - Where Comics Get Counseling

Memories (and hopes of returning soon!)

Aug 15, 2018

Hey Capes aficionados,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on how things are going. I officially move into the new house tomorrow - my wife and I are supremely excited about it! One of the nice things is the room in which Dr. Issues and I will be recording has more space, so it'll give us room to move a little better and provide better airflow.

On that note, we anticipate recording again within the next 2 weeks, so we'll be back invading your ear holes in early September! I know you've been waiting on pins and needles to find out when we'll return, and once we have an exact date, you'll be the first to know.

Lastly, I came across this in my Facebook memories, and had to share it with you. 4 years ago was the first time Doc and I talked about presenting our ideas on comic books and psychiatry to the public, and we opted to go for a panel at NYCC. We had no fame, no support, nothing other than a dream to share our thoughts on the various neuroses of heroes and villains, and we wanted to do it in a big way. So the picture above shows how that worked out. You can see we haven't changed much about the idea in the last 4 years, aside from a tweak in the title and our methods of presentation. But I can tell you we've already submitted earlier this year for a panel at NYCC - this time it would be a live podcast recording. Fingers crossed they accept it - we haven't heard no yet, so as Jim Carrey said, "so you're saying there's a chance..." Anyway, back to packing and taping up boxes for me - can't wait to talk to you from the new "studio"!
